HOLISTIC SUPPORT

Holistic Support

KYRO adopts a holistic approach by investing in the complete well-being of teen mothers and girls through a three-pillar strategy encompassing education, community development, and sport. As a community-driven organization, we tailor our programs to address the specific needs of the community we serve in Rubona, Rwamagana District, Rwanda. Our dynamic staff comprises local Rwandan leaders who possess a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young women in their community. KYRO intends to dedicate its services to the communities in Rwanda by continuing to champion the rights of vulnerable young women.

Education

At KYRO, we understand that breaking the cycle of poverty within the community starts with educating its members. Teen mothers and girls cannot become successful women without education and skills. However, education is merely the beginning; we view it as a gateway to support young women in all aspects of their lives. Beyond education, a young woman should have access to healthcare, mentorship, community support, and opportunities to shape her future.

We believe in the dreams of young
women and invest in their potential.

Community Empowerment

At KYRO, we recognize that education alone cannot fulfill all the needs of a young woman. When a teen mom or young woman is welcomed into the KYRO program, so is her family. In our commitment to supporting a young woman, we understand the importance of involving her family and the broader community. Our aim is to transform the narrative for everyone involved. Our investment extends beyond each individual girl; it encompasses her family as well. With the goal of sparking sustainable growth and economic stability for every scholar and her family, we take a holistic approach. Upon acceptance into KYRO, the parents and guardians of each scholar are welcome to join the KYRO Parent and Guardian Cooperative. This platform equips them with essential business skills, financial guidance, and the opportunity to participate in a cooperative that amplifies their collective voice and spending capacity. Parents play a crucial role as advocates for girls in our community, taking the lead in challenging cultural norms that restrict opportunities for girls. Together in the cooperative, members pool their resources to launch small businesses, receiving training from KYRO to become adept business owners. With over 50 parents and 8 successful business ventures, the cooperative has delivered impressive results for the community.
